Mindfulness

Somatic therapy is an approach that focuses on the connection between the mind and body, recognizing that emotional and psychological issues can manifest physically in the body. It involves techniques that help you release physical tension, process traumatic experiences, and restore balance to the mind-body connection.

Somatic therapy promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and addresses physical symptoms associated with emotional distress. It can be of significant benefit if you have been diagnosed with severe anxiety or are experiencing trauma-related symptoms as it helps you learn to regulate your nervous system and improve your overall well-being.

Somatic therapy sessions may vary, depending on you and your diagnosed condition. We may employ techniques such as mindful breathing, body awareness exercises, movement therapy, or touch-based interventions to help you connect with and release tension held in your body. We encourage our clients notice physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts without judgment – this allows for greater self-awareness and healing. Some sessions may also involve exploring the connection between past experiences and present physical sensations to promote integration and resolution. Our somatic therapy sessions are conducted in a supportive, non-invasive environment so that you are better equipped to explore the mind-body connection while developing strategies for self-care and self-regulation.
